Worship
God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth – John 4:24
Jesus said to him, You shall love the LORD God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself – Matthew 22:37-40
And they worshipped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen Luke 24:52-53
We sing and pray…..
be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the authority of God – Ephesians 5:18-20
We assemble each Sunday, on the first day of the week and hear a message from the word of God taught by a variety of preachers….
Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight. There were many lamps in the upper room where they were gathered together – Acts 20:7-8
We partake in the Lord’s Supper or Communion…
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, Take eat; this is my body. Then he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink from it, all of you. For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins…And when they had sung a hymn they went out to the Mount of Olives – Matthew 26:26-30
We take up a collection to further the work of God’s Kingdom….
Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper.
We encourage one another in confession and prayer……
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much – James 5:16
We extend an invitation to be baptized….
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me – John 14:6
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit – Acts 2:36-38
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law – Galatians 5:22-23
